Valparaiso, Chile

^^ Brad’s Grandpa ^^
^^ My mother in law, Gladys ^^
 ^^ Brad’s sister, Natalie ^^
Here’s some photos of the time we spent in Viña del Mar and Valparaiso – We laughed so hard showing up there in our swimsuits – what were we thinking? It was not even beachy, and it was pretty chilly out! I wondered why Brad’s grandpa was leaving the house in a jacket… Anyway, it was so lovely to walk around and embrace the culture of this town! My favorite was when we sat down to eat lunch, and we saw this little old lady come out and look over her balcony across the street. Don’t you see something like that being in a movie!? Especially with that little purple hat for some reason. I was tempted to go ring her doorbell after, just to see her little face again. After lunch, it was nice to walk around with the grandparents and really spend some quality time with them. Tata (Brad’s Grandpa) is so cute, he was always walking arm in arm with one of us! Shuffling around and pointing to different things… Man he is just such a cutie. We saw some pelicans, and I am seriously surprised that Brad didn’t get attacked by one of them! He was definitely invading their personal space for a good photo. Then we all squished back in the car (Literally, my butt fell asleep sharing a seat with Tata) and journeyed back home. We all slept almost the whole 2 hour ride home – but thats a sign of what a good day we had, right?

I love that each place you visited in Chile seems to have a different feel. Some places seemed more bright & colorful, while here seems more muted and understated. There's so much character! And those wires on the telephone pole are crazy!! Haha

Ooooh man. My best friend lady love is in Vina Del Mar right now. She told me it was stunning! Love these pictures.

And tooootally get what you mean about landing on a cold beach. When I lived in China last year, we were an hour away from endless coast. Sounds like magic? Too bad it was always wind-chill of the artic, even in the summer. Hahha. We were optimistic FOOLS.

    Beautiful post, as always. ๐Ÿ™‚

thanks for saying hi on the 'ol blog. it's really weird to visit someone's blog and be like "whoa… i've been there." Like… waiting for a missionary and then getting married, or visiting his mission after we were married, or speaking spanish with the husband, or making halloween movies every year … all of which i believe we have in common (i'm just like 5 years ahead of you… or so.)

really beautiful pictures and videos. maybe we'll run into each other in the SLC sometime.
