My Happy Place

People often ask Brad and I, “With what you do for a living, you could live ANYWHERE in the world! Why do you choose to live in such a simple place like Utah?”. And I can never really explain it, but it just feels like home. This little lakeside town beneath the mountains is my happy place. And I would never choose to live anywhere else! Traveling has given me such appreciation for this place that we call home. Whenever we return home from a trip, I’m overwhelmed with so much gratitude! Especially this time of year when all of the flowers are in full bloom, and everyone on our street is playing outside. ๐Ÿ˜‰ This sense of community fills me with so much joy! And of course, being close to family and little cousin friends is hard to beat too. ๐Ÿ˜›

One of our favorite things to do in the summer, is to ride our bikes around the lake! We try to get out every day while the warm weather lasts. I love it because it brings back memories of when I was dating Brad because we still ride on our sketchy vintage bikes that we rode then. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We throw the girls in our bike trailer, and if we’re lucky, we’ll get to the lake without any tears! They usually start picking on each other if we take too long. ๐Ÿ˜‰ The other night we rode down, and sat on the edge of the dock to feed the ducks, and Greta wanted to SWIM! Haha! She was squirmy mcgee trying to wrestle out of our arms, and finally Brad ended up putting her on his feet so she could splash her feet in the water. I’ve never seen her so content before, it was the sweetest thing. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m so excited that summer is finally HERE! Long live these summer nights!

It sounds like Greta is going to become quite the little mermaid!! I too was like that when little, and take every chance to be in lakes or the ocean now โ˜บ๏ธ
