Bear with me because I’m about to get reeeeall vulnerable here for a sec, and it’s about something that’s been eating me up inside for the past couple of months. It’s this big, fat, ugly word called JEALOUSY. Or maybe it’s comparison!? Either way I’ve let it get the best of me, and it’s been hurting every aspect of my life. I see what others are accomplishing around me and it makes me feel discouraged, instead of feeling pumped and uplifted!? Like what the heck, why am I letting this yucky feeling take over!?

I feel like it’s been this ongoing lesson that I have to keep learning throughout my life, until the concept is finally nailed to my freaking forehead. I keep running into different versions of my favorite quote, and I’m considering printing it on a giant Tshirt and wearing it every day ?✨”Just because they are successful, beautiful, and awesome doesn’t mean that you are not!”✨ But isn’t that the truth!? The things that make you, you, are what make you so wonderful, and nothing, and NO ONE can take that away.

So I think that I have found my new word for 2018, and it is “Contentment”. ❤️ Contentment means wanting what you already have, and recognizing all the blessings that lie before you this very moment. And as I take a moment to reflect on my life with gratitude, that contentment is magnified. Everything that I need is right here! ❤️Cheers to using social media for Connection over Comparison. Who’s with me?
