Zion National Park

^^ Always prepared with the pacifier! Also obsessed with my Fawn Bag ^^
^^ Brad’s cute parents ^^
^^ I chopped my hair! What do you think? ^^

We took a last minute trip down to Zion National Park (we’re always flying by the seat of our pants!) and it was BEAUTIFUL! I have lived in Utah my whole life, and I can’t believe that I have never been there before. I love exploring new places for the first time with my little family. My in-laws came along (They went up the weekend before and inspired the trip!), and they totally TRICKED US into hiking Angels Landing! Haha! I thought we were hiking the “easy trail” to the Emerald Pools. We were about halfway up, and I was like “Man, this is pretty intense for the map to level this as an ‘easy’ hike…” Hahahah! We laughed so hard when they broke the news to us — Those cheeky monkeys. I’m super glad we did it though, because the entire hike was so beautiful. We even ran into some instagram-friends on the trail! Lucy loved to play in the sand, throw rocks in puddles, and chase bugs. She was such a great sport in the hiking carrier, and even napped in it. I love watching Brad be her dad — galloping up the hill like a “horsey” and spinning around… Lucy is a daddy’s girl, that’s for sure. πŸ™‚ It was so fun to have Brad’s parents with us — Terry is always making friends with strangers and telling jokes along the trail, and Gladys is always running around (I don’t know how she has so much energy!) and making analogies: “Look at these plants growing out of rocks! It shows how we can all be happy and bloom no matter the circumstance.” — They’re the best. We hiked to the Emerald Pools later in the afternoon and it was really pretty too. Now THAT’S a hike that I’d recommend doing with kids. πŸ˜‰

Also, for the record — this is the first road trip we did where Lucy didn’t have to throw up in the car! I hope she’s growing out of her motion sickness haha because I still haven’t. πŸ˜‰

Utahs state parks are the best! I feel like I always forget that millions of people vacation to my home state. Try motioneze for little Lucy. It's just a mix of essential oils you don't get all of the side effects that you get with other motion sickness products. You can get it at Walmart by the Dramamine.

Can I ask about your hiking carrier? Was it comfortable for Brad? My husband and I need to buy one, and I want to make sure we get a good/comfortable one for him to wear!
    Thanks! πŸ™‚

I love your new hair cut! You look beautiful! And yay for Lucy not throwing up! That sounds so sad. πŸ™ My sis went hiking at the same location this last weekend and the pictures she sent me were so stunning, as are the ones you guys took! I have a question about your diaper bag though. I have been searching high and low for a good one and was wondering if you recommend the fawn bag for 2 kiddos? I am having my second in May and need one with enough room that is long lasting. πŸ™‚

Rachel, I have 2 kids, and use the Fawn bag for both of them. Each day (when I take my kids to a babysitters house), I fit 6 diapers for each child, extra outfit (for accidents) wipes, formula, and a bottle. It all fits great! It could fit a few more smaller items if I needed.
